The Nook is a small community space in the heart of Newent, an initiative by Buses4Us. It's yours to use, by donation.
Please note:
The key lives in the lockbox and your code comes with your booking confirmation. Please keep the code to your own group.
The Nook is available from 9am – 9pm daily; however, opening hours for The Shambles is 9am – 4.30pm seven days a week.
If your slot falls outside The Shambles' opening hours, you can collect keys to the exterior gate on Church Street from Cobblers @ No.7 Micro Pub. There will be a £5 refundable deposit at Cobblers for the return of the key.
Bookings are for your own group, not to be passed on or sublet. Whoever made the booking is responsible for the group and the space for that session.
It's chairs and tables and not much else. There's no tea and coffee station, so bring whatever you need with you.
Be mindful that we do not have a parking space at The Shambles, and spaces are reserved for tenants.
We reserve the right to move or cancel a booking where we need to. It won't happen often, and if it does we'll be in touch directly and work with you to find another slot that suits.
A few things we ask in return:
Give what you think the session was worth, in the donation box or via the QR code on the wall. Donations keep the lights on.
Book the full time you need, setting up and clearing away included.
Only book the time you'll actually use. If you'd like a regular slot, have a word with us first rather than block-booking the calendar. The Nook works because it stays available to everyone.
If your plans change, tell us as early as you can and we'll open the slot back up for someone else.
Treat it like a friend's front room. Considerate, clean, no surprises for the next person.
Move the furniture if you need to, but please put it back as you found it.
Food and drink are fine. Take your rubbish with you.
Keep the noise sensible. We have neighbours.
No smoking or vaping anywhere in the building.
Children are welcome, but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Nothing can be left or stored at The Nook between bookings, and your belongings are your own responsibility.
Broken, spilt, or a mess you couldn't sort out yourself? Tell us. We would far rather hear it from you than find it the next morning. [community@buses4us.org]
Accidents happen and we are not going to chase anyone over chipped paint. Deliberate damage or leaving the place in a state is different, and we may ask you to cover the cost or turn down future bookings.
Before you leave:
Chairs and tables back where you found them.
Take your rubbish with you.
Turn the lights off.
Lock the door locked and put the key back in the lockbox.
Make a donation.
The Nook belongs to everyone who uses it. Leave it as you'd want to find it.
